Couriers Company Delivery Quality Introduction
Here is just a quick rundown of our experience with each of the courier services we currently use.
Australia Post Regular Parcel
Normally deliver within a good time frame, a good choice for any complex addresses like apartment complexes, townhouses or any confusing unit numbers like 2B/23 Clayton Street, etc.
Australia Post Express
Normal delivery within a given time frame, the best choice for the rural area.
Normally the cheapest option. 90% of parcels will arrive on time and it is pretty fast. However they have difficulty delivering to apartment addresses, and sometimes deliver to the wrong address like 2B/21 Clayton street. Avoid choosing Fastway if you have a relatively complex address. Also avoid using Fastway if you live in a rural area, normally they take a lot longer compared to Australia Post.
A solid choice. They have good pricing for some kind of parcels and have solid delivery quality. Very solid courier service.
Normally the cheapest option for big or heavy items. However, the delivery quality is not that good, 90% of delivery complaints are from Toll. Toll has many issues including delays, lost packages, delivery to the wrong address, no tracking information update, damage to packages, etc. If you require better delivery quality it will be best to choose another courier service. For problematic parcels with Toll it may take up to 30 days to go progress since they respond very slowly.
Another choice for big and heavy items. Most of the time it’s expensive, however they offer very good delivery quality for larger items. Even if there is an issue that has occurred with the parcel they will either update the customer or the sender so we can proceed with the next step for the customer, whether it’s a refund or a replacement. Very good delivery quality.
A little bit lower delivery quality compared with TNT but it is a bit cheaper, sometimes their pick up team takes a little longer to pick up. Still a good choice for quality delivery.
Delivery Terms & Conditions
Items have a shipping cost unless the listing/item states it is Free Postage. Freight costs vary for each buyer depending on their postcode/location. Larger items and pallets must have someone home to help unload. Due to WH&S regulations, courier drivers cannot be forced into lifting items over 20kg.
It is your responsibility to advise us:
– If someone will be available to sign for the delivery
– If there somewhere safe it can be left if no one is home (e.g. around the back of the house)
– If the address is a business address. If so we will require the information regarding the business hours and the name of the building
If you say you will be home and miss the delivery, you will be required to pick up your delivery from the freight companies depot. Alternatively, we can arrange a re-delivery however this will cost between $10-$30 depending on the size of your order. We cannot advise you the exact day and time delivery will occur, however, we will email you the tracking details and the freight company contact details and they can provide you a better estimation of the time. Nirvana Tech cannot control the delivery once the courier has collected the items from our warehouse. Therefore, Nirvana Tech will take no responsibility for items delayed, damaged or lost while in transit.
